The Guardians' Throne - The First Magic Swordsman

Chapter 345 - Magic Spear

"You can return and say to Ameria that I am busy, and this business trip will probably take a while," Zaos said.

"She needs to talk to you, as a friend… it is urgent," The assassin said.

"Yeah, right…" Zaos snorted. "You can also tell the king to fuck off. That asshole doesn\'t even have the dignity of not using her daughter\'s name to make me fall for a trap."

"She wants to apologize for letting things happen like this," The assassin said. "She tried to prevent the worst-case scenario, but things happened too fast."

"There is nothing to apologize for," Zaos said. "From the very beginning, things were way beyond any one of us. Now, if you didn\'t come to kill me, you should go away because the next time, I won\'t hold back."

"… You can\'t attack that mansion. It has been surrounded by guards and them waiting in nearby houses to ambush you," The assassin said. "Drian is among the guards, and he and everyone else has the order to kill you."

"Oh? That seems like fun," Zaos smiled. "Since they want to kill me even before the attack, I won\'t have to worry about killing unfortunate bystanders."

Zaos said and then turned around. Since it has been a while, he was really looking forward to a fight… no, he was looking forward to beating down someone that tried to use him as a pawn. It would be risky, but he decided to use brute strength on that job. Unless he is willing to go that far to scare his enemies, they will never leave him alone. There was another option, kill everyone that knew about him, but in the end, even though he didn\'t like him… Zaos couldn\'t kill his own father.

Before the assassin could try to convince Zaos, he left the area and then headed toward the mansion. He could have caused a lot of damage and saved himself from some trouble if he had burned down the houses around, where he could he feel the presence of many guards, but in the end, he was too soft for that.

"To all of you who have no idea what is happening here, I will give you one chance to escape," Zaos said and then drew his sword. "Unless you want to die for a king doesn\'t deserve your loyalty, you should leave right now."

Instead of running away, the guards quickly left the houses and then surrounded Zaos. Just like the time he tried to reach Camus, he saw hundreds of heavily armored guards with tall shields and long spears ready to fight him. It seemed that they were planning to use the same strategy that caused a lot of trouble to Zaos before.

"You are really alive, Zaos," Drian suddenly showed up, armed with a red spear and a silver plate armor. "I am quite surprised, a bit happy and sad as well."

"Sad because I know what kind of people you three really are?" Zaos asked.

"You are a smart kid, Zaos," Drian said. "You should know that we can\'t take any risks when the safety of the kingdom is at stake."

"You don\'t have to explain to me anything," Zaos said. "If you are convinced that you have to go that far just out of fear, then it is fine. Keep doing it. Still, it won\'t change the fact that you have to pay the price for trying to use me in doing that."

"His Majesty and your father said that there is no point in trying to talk after all you did. Still, I had to try…" Drian said and then sighed. "It is fortunate that I will have to deal with you. Even it is for the kingdom, a father shouldn\'t have to kill his own son… attack!"

The soldiers began to run toward Zaos and stab him at the same time, but they were forced to stop when Zaos hit his sword against the ground, and the area trembled a little. The attack didn\'t cause that much of a big tremor, but it worked well to make the enemies hesitate.

Without holding back, Zaos dashed toward Drian. Several guards were blocking his way, but Zaos swung his sword with all his might and knocked down the soldiers that raised their shields to block him. Zaos frowned since he failed at cutting down the shields… it seemed they had prepared some special tools to stop Zaos.

When Zaos swung his sword horizontally, Drian dodged the attack by lowering his posture. That reaction speed was on par with Drannor\'s could be when he uses that magic spear, so Zaos couldn\'t help but show shock when he weapon cut only the air.

Drian tried to move forward and stab Zaos in the face, but he changed his mind when he saw Zaos moving his neck, and a small portion of his face changed color. That only happened in a fraction of a second, but Drian noticed Zaos using earth magic to increase his defense. Regardless, before Zaos could do anything, the enemies from the sides approached and tried to stab Zaos. It was time to stop saving his mana… Zaos enhanced his sword with wind magic, and then it turned into electricity. He swung his sword in a full circle and then hit the enemies\' weapons. When that happened, they were electrocuted and paralyzed for a moment. Once that happened, Zaos spun around again and hit their necks with his sword. In an instant, ten heavily armored soldiers were killed.

"You are willing to go that far, huh…" Drian said.

"Don\'t talk like you have the moral high ground," Zaos said. "You capture newborn babies and kill their families out of fear. You are as evil as the enemy you are trying to fight."

After hearing that, Drian dashed toward Zaos and attacked with all his might, Zaos managed to block the spear, but he felt a weird smell in the air. Before long, he saw some smoke coming from his sword… Drian\'s spear was actually melting the steel of his weapon…
